Sam Gabor is a composer based in the United States. His work, Celestial City, reimagines the arc from Genesis to Revelation as an epic journey of human struggle, transformation, resilience and rebirth. Drawing on sacred narratives as metaphorical frameworks, Gabor’s music grapples with faith and the nature of the sacred.

Gabor’s compositional voice is shaped by both classical and cinematic traditions. These influences range from Bach, Handel, and Beethoven to contemporary film composers including James Horner, Jóhann Jóhannsson, Hans Zimmer, Ludwig Göransson, Thomas Newman, Nicholas Britell, and Howard Shore to name a few. The epic visual landscapes of Gustave Doré's biblical engravings and John Martin's apocalyptic paintings further inform his approach to orchestration and storytelling through sound.

Forthcoming projects will build upon Celestial City, and expand the musical exploration of faith, transcendence, in light of human experience. These works are currently in development, with further details to be shared as they take shape.
